In this group we have members with a variety of interests and backgrounds in many different aspects of Science, Technology and Mathematics (sometimes even straying into the realms of Philosophy). Our meetings include presentations from members, followed by lively discussion and interactive exchanges. We take a particular interest in new and recent developments in all S&T topics and have recently been looking at the Science around Climate Change. Each year many of us attend the Cheltenham Science Festival and then report back to the group on the events we have found to be especially interesting or innovating. We each bring different levels of qualification and knowledge to the various topics raised, but all agree that we never stop learning, especially in light of today’s ever expanding discoveries and developments in Science and Technology generally.
New members are always welcome – if you feel that you could make a contribution (great or small) on any topic related to Science and Technology, that would be good – but it is not essential. Why not come and join us? We all learn a great deal from each other, in many instances our meetings inspire us to do more research on specific topics (‘the Internet’ being such a wonderful easily accessible store of information!)
