Is there a retired person out there who fancies joining a rock/pop band? If so, contact Mike Modla to explore joining our band of u3a members.
Our aim: our objective is to have fun being part of a friendly bunch. We are a mixture of skilled and intermediate players. The group meets every fortnight to enjoy playing rock/pop together; at the same time learning from each other and improving. Typical music is from the 60s and 70s but is not restricted. Blues, Rock, Pop, Folk, e.g. Beatles, Stones, Bowie, Faces, Kinks, Cream, Drifters, Quo … that sort of thing.
The kit: You must have your own equipment, whether that be instruments, microphone, amp or PA.
The cost: the rate of each session depends on the number of participants on the day. Roughly it is between £3 - 6 to cover hire of the room/hall.
Availability: the positions for drums, rhythm guitar and lead guitar are currently filled. We are actively searching for a bassist and vocals. We would also consider other instrument(s) or additional vocals.
If this sounds interesting, please email me using the link above. Let me know which instrument you play, what level you feel you’re at and typical songs you like to play. P.S. No prima-donnas, please.
